Hanging Out as Long as We can

The movers came and packed up the Paynes this week. We took advantage of spending as much time with them as we could. We picked the kids up every day with Bri & Allie took care and cleaned out their home. We played, watched movies, made crafts, swam, went to the theater, ate meals and jumped on the tramp (all in the midst of a lice attack ;). Adventures I tell you! There were some long days but wouldn't have changed a bit of being able to be with them a little longer!!!
Cotton candy one last time:

A little face painting & Diva dressing ;):

Tiny treasures- mini Pies:

The last night was almost midnight before they finished up. Kassi was asleep on the couch. They had just picked up Kara from YW camp so we even got to say goodbye to her as well. They are off on their long road trip tomorrow morning. Love you guys! Best of Luck on your road trip and new adventure. You'll be missed!

P.S. Kara texted me a few times to let me know how their road trip was going. Love it!!!

"Best Goodbye Party EVER!!!"- quotes Kassi

Time is flying by way too fast!! Our dear friends, the Paynes are moving to Oregon for a job position next week . Their move will greatly impact our lives. First- they were our 1st Helena friends. We have spent many holidays and weekends and trips together. They have become like our family. Almost all our greatest memories have involved this little family. Next, Bri has been Brett's boss & workout buddy for about 3 years. It will be so weird to not have him here. Also- we have had the kids over every Wednesday night during mutual for over a year. What are we going to do without them??? We are surely going to miss them!!!

We wanted them to have the opportunity to say goodbye to friends and let them know how much we will miss them. So we threw them a little goodbye party. I went through all my pictures and printed off almost a hundred pictures of things we have done with them over the past years. I put them all over our house. It was so fun to look back at our memories together! I let them take all the pictures as a gift. Allie & I spent quite a bit of time writing on the back of all the pictures so they can have all those memories to take with them.
I also know all of their favorite treats so I made sure they were all over the place in candy dishes. At one point during the night- Kassi said "This is the BEST goodbye party EVER!!!" She made my day! Sure hope they know how much we love them and will miss them.

We had yummy food, and a bunch of good friends. Thanks to those who came to say their goodbyes!

I made sure to get pictures of them with their friends. The Payne kids were teasing me that I have more pictures of them than they do. LOL

The Payne family stayed late and the kids enjoyed one last time of the tramp & capture the flag with the Dads. We sure are going to miss them!!! Good Luck on your new Adventure, dear friends! XO

S'mores at the Andersons

The Anderons had us and the Paynes over tonight for S'mores over their firepit. Yum!

The kids had a blast playing together.

It sprinkled a little bit. Nothing to ruin the fun but enough to create a gorgeous double rainbow. Love it!

The adults enjoyed a few competitive games of Cornhole. I definitely have to get one of those for our backyard.

And some of the kids enjoyed a little karate chopping some firewood. Fun times!

P.S. This happened to be the last time that our 3 little families got together before the Paynes moved. We have done so much over the past 3 years together- it's sad to see this part of our lives come to an end. ;(

Black Hands

We have the Payne kids over every Wednesday while their parents serve at Church. The kids have a great time together! (except when barbie body parts start getting pulled off or fire alarms scare the crap out of everyone! LOL) Tonight, the kids helped me with a painting project. They got a little wild and painted more than my boards. Silly kids! Glad they were willing to help me though & had a little creative fun!

Triple Date in Manhattan

Brian and Brett planned a fun Group Valentine Date to check out this restaurant located in Manhattan, MT. It's about an hour or so away but it was such a fun adventure to be together. We had a blast chatting in the car and learning about each other. Each couple shared how we met and our Engagement story. So cute! Sir Scott's Oasis had some yummy food! Brett & I spoiled ourselves with Prawns and Finger Steaks. It came with everything from crackers and a relish tray to soup or salad to main dinner with toast & potatoes (the JoJo's were amazing!) to dessert. Delish! We were all absolutely stuffed when we left!
204 W Main St, Manhattan, MT 59741 · ~62.3 mi

Our ride home was quite the adventure with us being pulled over for speeding. LOL Oops! It was pretty funny and he pretty much sweet talked his was out of it. Happy Valentines Day!
Then they all came back to our house for a Candlelight dessert that my kids had got all set up. The whole upstairs had candles burning and we stuffed ourselves even further with some Valentine cake with fresh strawberries. What a fun time with some fun people! {We missed the Fifes cuz they thought they'd check into the hospital instead of joining us- what's up with that??? We missed you guys and hope you feel better soon. Luv you anyways! ;)}

Pie After Women's Broadcast

Liberty had already committed to babysitting before we realized it was Women's Broadcast (I know-lame on my part. Oops!) So Victoria and I had a special date to listen to the broadcast and go out for dessert with some of our friends.
The Broadcast felt as if it was particularly written for me. A few of the things that meant the most to me were:
*It is time to take that beloved phrase “I am a child of God” and add the words “Therefore, what?”
*Because you are His child, you not only need Him, but He also needs you. Those sitting around you right now in this meeting need you. The world needs you, and your divine nature allows you to be His trusted disciple to all His children.
*When we are involved in watching, reading, or experiencing anything that is below our Heavenly Father’s standards, it weakens us. Regardless of our age, if what we look at, read, listen to, or choose to do does not meet the Lord’s standards in For the Strength of Youth, turn it off, rip it up, throw it out, and slam the door.
*Sisters, I do not know why we have the many trials that we have, but it is my personal feeling that the reward is so great, so eternal and everlasting, so joyful and beyond our understanding that in that day of reward, we may feel to say to our merciful, loving Father, “Was that all that was required?”
*Speaking of a 102 old woman that is serving in YW and just received her medallion-  Afterward, I asked Sister Hoskins, “How did you do it?”She promptly responded, “I repent every day.”
*Eva asked Great Aunt Rose- "Why are you so happy?”
“There is enough that doesn’t go right in life, so anyone can work themselves into a puddle of pessimism and a mess of melancholy. But I know people who, even when things don’t work out, focus on the wonders and miracles of life. These folks are the happiest people I know.”
“But,” Eva said, “you can’t just flip a switch and go from sad to happy.”
“No, perhaps not,” Aunt Rose smiled gently, “but God didn’t design us to be sad. He created us to have joy! So if we trust Him, He will help us to notice the good, bright, hopeful things of life. And sure enough, the world will become brighter. No, it doesn’t happen instantly, but honestly, how many good things do? Seems to me that the best things, like homemade bread or orange marmalade, take patience and work.”
Talking about what made a change in her, Aunt Rose shared- “I discovered faith. And faith led to hope. And faith and hope gave me confidence that one day everything would make sense, that because of the Savior, all the wrongs would be made right. After that, I saw that the path before me wasn’t as dreary and dusty as I had thought. I began to notice the bright blues, the verdant greens, and the fiery reds, and I decided I had a choice—I could hang my head and drag my feet on the dusty road of self-pity, or I could have a little faith, put on a bright dress, slip on my dancing shoes, and skip down the path of life, singing as I went.”

After the Broadcast, we visited for a bit at the Church with friends that stayed there for ice cream. Then, we went to Shelly's for some pie, fries, and shakes. Yum! Fun Mommy/Daughter time! XOXO

Clark's Bay While it's Warm

We went out to Clark's Bay for a bit with some friends before the weather turns cold. We live so close but don't make it out there enough! The kids all made this huge hot tub. Luv it! Thanks Jensens for the invite!

Sprinklers Under the Tramp

The Paynes are going on vacation for a month to Alaska. They leave this weekend so they invited us to spend some time with them before they leave. They set up their trampoline with the sprinkler. The kid had a blast getting wet, blowing bubbles, eating treats and visiting. So fun! We'll miss you guys!

Fun at the Reef

Since we didn't get done watching kids for the Trek to the Temple until about 5 pm- we decided to spend the night in Billings. The Paynes & us took the kids to the Reef to do a bit of swimming! Fun times!

Everyone took turns on the slides (everyone could ride them this time! Hurray!)

Lilly Pads & Bucket o'Water

Wave pool & Hot Tub

We took a short break and ate pizza together outside. We were chilly!

Glory & Korbin were the very last kids out of the pool when it closed. They did NOT want to leave! LOL

We took our kids to DQ afterwards. What crazy people like to eat cold ice cream when they are wet & chilly??? ;)

We went back to our hotel- showered some people and sat by the firepit outside. What a great day!

Memorial Day BBQ on Faith Lane

Can I just say... I love having a home where we can have people over!!!!
We decided to throw a Memorial Day BBQ and have some friends over. It turned out to be quite the crowd! We were lucky enough to have the Posts, Fifes, Paynes, Earls, Tubbs, Ochsenbeins, Weavers, and Prescotts over to party with us! The skies threatened for a few moments before the guests arrived but then it was like a hot Summer Day! Love it!
My favorite thing about hosting is the fact that I don't have to make anything extravagant but always end up having a glorious meal! People are always welcome when they bring food! ;) We started up the fire pit and Brett turned on the Grill. We had tons of sides and even home-made ice cream! Awesome!

We are in love with our backyard. We had basketball games, trampoline fun, bug catching, visiting and kids even enjoyed the basement. It was really a perfect day! So glad our friends could spend time with us! We have so much to be grateful for. Happy Memorial Day!

We were all in love with my neighbors little girl. She was a up-ity "cheeser" at everyone but if we laughed at her too much- she would get pipping mad! It was so darling! love her!

Back to Scones

It's been a long time but we are back to Scone Night. We had the Strattons, the Paynes and the Stranges over. I love having people over!!  It's so fun to make scone dough and have everyone help make them. It's a perfect activity while people visit. Then you get to have a treat to end the night. Love it!

Paynes Sledding & Games

We had the Paynes over today to do some sledding & play some games. It's so fun to get together with friends. The Paynes have become like family to us up here and we love to get together with them. The sunset was beautiful!

The Paynes brought a new game over. It's tricky to learn the rules- it takes a great deal of strategy. But it was super fun!

We even had the pleasure of a Puppet show with concessions. LOL The girls are so creative and fun!
Thanks guys for hanging out with us!
