The 5th Ward planned a 14+ Dance for tonight. Liberty worked so Brett and I just decided to meet some friends there for a little while. Loved getting to dance with my favorite guy! We practiced some country dancing including some flips. Got to bust a move with some friends. Even got in a couple slow dances. Happy New Year, love! ❤️

Truck Sledding
Brett pulled the kids around the neighborhood on the sled behind the truck! It's been windy so they came back with some pretty red cheeks. Fun Dad!

Then he took the kids to the Ward Trunk-or-Treat at the Church. Followed by a Chili Cookoff & another Halloween Carnival. All in one day! Whew! What a good Dad! XO

Backyard Cement Work & other Yard Projects
Back in August, Brett rented a Bobcat with an auger to dig holes in our yard. He (&Justice) dug holes for the Basketball light pole, the Flag pole, four Fort poles, a fireman pole, two Zipline poles and three tree holes. Whew!
Next Brett bought, hauled, cut and installed Zipline Poles. They were BIG!! Glory helped dig out the extra dirt from the hole (with a little help from Dad & Grandpa Randy when they came to visit.) The poles were in and Brett, Justice & Grandpa got the zipline wire across there and tightened as best they could. P.S. Plus all the kids helped dig up dirt from the other holes.
The girls did test runs. They love it!
Unfortunately, it sags too much in the middle for adults so Brett bought new poles. We dug up the other ones and reinstalled taller ones. Now we have lots of firewood and log seats for our firepit LOL
Next, Brett framed up all the holes in preparation for the cement work.
And Brian helped finish up cutting the hole out of one of the metal bases.
One morning, Brett ordered a cement truck to bring out the cement. Brian and Brett's ball buddy, CK, came over to help. They whipped through all the wholes pretty fast.

It started to rain after they had already smoothed stuff out so we had to go back and smooth stuff out again and cover everything. But pretty awesome to have that all done!
We still have a lot of work to do but it's awesome to get some things done!
Here's what our flag pole turned out like: I did later on fix the dirt around the flagpole. Go, me!

Brett's Birthday Celebration
Since Brett was gone for his birthday, so we celebrated today! XOXO to our favorite guy!
We spoiled him with presents like a bipod for his gun, candy, a new shirt and a pretty good-lookin' bayonet.
Fed him a yummy dinner.
And made one of his favorite desserts. Yum!

Backyard Campout
Brett is serving as the Scout Master in our Ward. He had the boys over to campout in our backyard so they could mark off a bunch of their requirements. I didn't go out and take any pictures when they were awake but here's all their tents set up before they all got up in the morning.

Nick's Baptism
One of Brett's Seminary students from last year got baptized today. (Yes! Nick came to early morning Seminary for the last 2 years without even being a Member of The Church.) Nick asked that Brett baptize him. Brett felt very grateful to be a part of Nick's special day.
Here's our good friends the Fifes with Nick (they recently adopted Nick & his 2 brothers)

20th Anniversary GetAway
Brett and I celebrated our 20th Wedding Anniversary this weekend!!! We braved leaving the kids by themselves and did a little getaway to Idaho. Perfect distance to not be in the car forever.
We found a fun theme-room Hotel in Idaho Falls. We stayed in the Venice room. It was awesome!
They provide Bubbly on our own little private "balcony".
We drove down to Blackfoot & spent time with our friends for a wedding reception. Then came back to spend the night at the hotel. We even rented a massage table. So amazing! I need one of those at home!
They delivered breakfast to the door in the morning. We got it a little late so the Hot Cocoa cream was melted but everything was delicious!
Once we checked out, we headed downtown to explore a little, We did a little shopping then saw that they have a special exhibit at the Museum. It's right up our alley so we decided to stop. "Rebels with a Cause"
We caught the tale end of the Farmers Market so we tried Mexican Street corn. Oh.My.Heavens!!! It looks and sounds gross but it was super fabulous!
We checked out the Falls. The Idaho Falls Temple is closed this week so we just enjoyed the view.
We found a little place to eat lunch. It was called Diablas. The owner was our chef. We just sat and watched her make our lunch. It was so good! I tried the Seafood Eggs Benedict. It came with fresh yogurt as well. (like homemade- Yum!) Brett tired one of their signature sandwiches and a super fresh salad.
We did head up to Rexberg to do a session at the Temple. It's the 1st time I've been inside so it was a special day! We are going to count this as our Touching Temple photo for Rexberg. Love it!
I am very lucky to be married to Brett. I can't believe we've been together for over 20 years. Crazy! Love you Honey! XOP.S. Before we headed home- I got to stop and hug my friend Amber. She lives in Rexberg. They were having a Ward Party at the Church so we stopped by for a few minutes. It was so fun to see her. Bummer that I forgot to take a picture. Dumb! Oh well! Good to see you, lady! Xo

Fay's Daughter's Wedding
A while back, my friend Fay asked if I would come down to her daughter's wedding reception in Idaho. My first thoughts were that it was super nice of her to want me there but not sure that I could pull it off. As I looked into it- it turned out to be the day before my anniversary. I decided to see if we could make it a special get-away for Brett and I. It worked out perfect! We got to help out at the reception down in Blackfoot. Fay's (and her amazing side kick friends that set up) decorations were awesome. Everything looked so gorgeous!
We ended up showing up late because of some really bad road construction. I felt bad until we realized Fay & all the food wasn't there either. These two AMAZING ladies were holding things together and improvising the best they could. Brett & I jumped in and did what we could to help for the evening. It was so fun to hang out with Mekell & Lori the whole night. {They knew Fay back when they all lived in the 4th Ward together} They are such incredible people!!! We were lucky to spend some time with them. Fun times!!!

Whistle While You Work on Your Welding Table
Brett has been busy using his welder to make a welding table. It's one heavy duty thing! (I caught him whistling while he was working on it. LOL)
He paid Victoria to paint the legs for him. It's looking super cool!
