A little fun family ice skating... oh wait.. except for showing up 40 minutes before it opens because the teenager planned it, the ice being slick, the room bring cold, Victoria falling on{&possibly breaking} her tail bone the 1st time around, Glory hitting her elbow, Liberty's friends not showing up, and Dad embarrassing Justice... yep! Family fun sucks!!!! ๐๐๐

Scripture Reading- the Seamons Way!
We are pretty perfect about Family Scripture Study in our home. We haven't missed a night in over 20 years. (Seriously!) It has been a blessing in our lives for sure.
But let's be real------ it's not always accompanied with halos and an overwhelming, uplifting Spirit- this is a pretty decent picture of reality! Dad "resting" his eyes. Glory getting a back tickle while she reads from the iPod. Justice making faces. Victoria foot to back massaging her brother (or is she beating him with her foot?) Liberty sitting as far away as she can from the chaos. And Mom thinking we don't have to always read so many verses each night. It's reality people- but I'll keep them! ๐๐๐๐๐

Parenting a Teenager...
mtseamonsfamReality Check. Half a foot of snow, freezing temps, hubby out of town, a procrastinated school project, and a night filled with teenagers wishing they lived somewhere else. Quote for the day- "My kids call it 'yelling' when I raise my voice... But I call it 'motivational speaking' for the selective hearing!"
- crumra53I can't imagine that happening with you and your teenagers, great quote though.
- mcfeilzerThe struggle is real

7-11 Slurpees
Nostalgia for my youth when my friends & I used to walk down to "Sev" for a Slurpee. Quite the stylin' girls to share a little memory with.

Memories and Testimonies of Lana & Garold
Brett brought a recorder to document some stories & testimonies of Grandma & Grandpa (Lana & Garold Seamons). It was fun to sit around and hear about them. Super sweet to see them get emotional & share in their laughter! Long live the "Kick the cat" story! Lol
(I'll see if I could transcript some of the stories and add them here)

Good Samaritans
mtseamonsfamNothing like blowing a tire on the side of the freeway on an early morning seminary drive to make you super grateful for Good Samaritans. Thanks Kevin Williams for rescuing me by changing my tire in the freezing morning air. And Kris F. for rescuing the late students. You both are blessings in my life today!
- kyakawichAnd it was freezing out this morning. Thumbs up to good samaritans.

Halloween Candy Junkies
We brought most of our Halloween candy ๐ญ to Fairmont this week. They started throwing their wrappers on the coffee table & then it just became a family joke. Could we fill the table top up by the end of the week? Oh yes--- we could!!!! Lol ๐ป

Chubby Bunny
I have no idea where the kids learned this game but they have been into playing Chubby Bunny lately. It consists of everyone shoving marshmallows into their mouths until they gag. Gross but so funny! The one with the most marshmellows in their mouth- wins! They were all laughing so hard. It was hilarious!
Pretty sure Dad won. I video-ed them because their laughter was so funny. Right after this- Brett pretty much threw up in the garbage can. These people are so weird!!!! LOL

Sucker Tooth!
Victoria has a super sweet tooth. This time... it's literally a sweet tooth. LOL She has quite a few baby molars falling out. She used a caramel sucker to help one along. Too funny!
Tatoo-ed Children
No matter how much I tell my girls to not write on themselves- it seems I always find them tatoo-ing themselves up. LOL

So, Um, Like....
We have started to realize how much our family uses the words "so", "um", and "like". It is CRAZY!!! We couldn't make it through dinner (or even a few minutes without using one of those words if not ALL of them!) We busted up laughing the whole night because of it. It was a little pathetic!
I found this article that is entitled- So, Um, You Like Really Need to Stop Using These Crutch Words
Written by Niti Shah in April of 2014. It was a pretty neat article about how to stop. We might have to do this for a FHE lesson. LOL
It talked about diffenrent kinds of crutch words (aka filler words)
The Extraneous Exclamation
The False Start
The Awkward Ending
The Totally Mostly Useless Adverb
The Overcompensating Adjective
The Diluting Preposition(al Phrase)
Steps-
1) Identify Your Crutch Words
2) Monitor Your Presentations for Crutch Words
3) Practice Your Public Speaking

If I had a Million Dollars...
Every year, Brett brings home the playing pieces for the Albertsons Monopoly. Victoria LOVES it and takes her job of filling in the game board very seriously!!! As you can see- we almost won a lot of things. The key word being "almost" LOL!!!! Keep trying, Sis! One of these years- you'll make us rich!

Hail- Yes!!!.. We saw a Cattle Drive
On our road trip out to Billings this weekend, we ran into a ol' west Montanan Cattle Drive. Cowboys & everything!!! It was crazy!!! Soooo many cows....
We loved this little family that tried their best to hold their ground. Too funny!
We just bought a Suburban from some friends. We're grateful we were able to have a little more room & better tires for this trip. Hannah was able to ride down with us.
On the trip back- we ran into quite the storm!!! Thank heavens for tires that kept us on the road. Check out this HAIL!!
And all the rain after:

Christmas Card Bloopers
I love to create things!!! Oh, so much! But I haven't done as much of that as I used to. In fact, I feel like I've lost my Craft Mojo! But when Brett presented a certain picture that he wanted on our Christmas Card and I went for a search for others to go with it- I came up short. I needed to muster a little Craft Mojo if at all possible.
So... I pulled out my camera, dragged my family into the living room and took 250+ pictures. People sometimes think that my family instinctively just sit correctly and smile for every picture. And for the most part- they'd be correct. I have trained them well! LOL But the reality is that there's always a little whiny and craziness that occurs when I try to document our family.
Here's a little proof:

so it was all worth it. ;) Hurray for a little Craft Mojo!
Merry Christmas!

When electronics have been handed in for the day and you give the kids a
few snowballs, pillows and some underwear- this is what they come up with. LOL

Seattle Namesakes
As we were walking around Seattle, we found 2 places that were named after us. ;) So we took the opportunity to stand by our namesakes for a picture.
The "CRUMP"et Shop. My maiden name is Crump!
This is me and my "I'm a Little teapot" impersonation. LOL
This is an upside down umbrella that Shauna wanted to show us. So random!!!
But it happened to be located on LENORA Street.
So, here's my little Glory Lenora Seamons in front of her sign.

Glory's Pet Bunny
When we got home from Trek, Glory adopted a Pet Bunny (for about 3 minutes because it was dead!) Somehow it must have got into the garage when we were loading for Trek and then got stuck in there. Poor Baby Bunny! But he sure is cute!
