After lunch, we saw a sign for a fun family adventure down at
Opal Mountain Gems. We decided to try it out. It was AWESOME!!! We picked out a big bag of gravel from their shop. Then we headed outdoors to pan for our gems. It was a bit chilly but so much fun!
We found at least one of every gem except the Ruby Zoisite but we did find a bunch of regular Quartz as well. Way to go, us! Here's the gems we found: Aren't they gorgeous!!!?
Finally the kids each got to pick a free Geode that Kevin cut open for us. So neat!
I'm afraid we may be hooked on Mining now! We all loved it! AND... what better place than Montana to become a Mining Family! We'll have to check into it!
