Bestemor's Funeral

The real reason that the girls and I headed down to UT this week was for my grandma's funeral. Rayola H. Andersen aka Bestemor passed away last Monday at the age of 89.

We attended the viewing in the morning. It was crazy to see all my aunts & uncles & cousins & their kids. Some of them I haven't seen in like 15 years. I hardly recognized some of them.

At the graveside, we had a little service. I was able to visit with my oldest friend, Kathryn. And see a few more relatives that I haven't seen in years. Tauni & I compared our hair. Man! It's getting long!

Pallbearers:

Treston shared memories from all the grandkids.

All of Bestemor's children: (Lavell, Adam, Kathie, Kail, Klarise, & Karla)

All the Grandchildren (except Mark Jr. who passed away).

All the great-grandchildren (minus Liberty & Justice)

My mom- Karla's family

And my Dad & Edette came as well.

We had a luncheon afterwards, Victoria was super excited to bring home some flowers. It came with a little note that read:
"When Rayola was Relief Society President she always brought carnations to the luncheon after funerals. Her gift was fresh flowers to the family of the deceased in remembrance of their new life. I told her that I would do that at her funeral in gratitude for her service and influence to so many others."

Orchestra Snack

In order for Victoria's friends to sign up for Orchestra again this year, we worked out a plan to help each other out. We each take a week and pick up the girls after school, feed them a snack and get them back before Orchestra starts. Because we live so close, we can just grab them and bring them home with us. Man! I love these girls!

One day they even got to "eat up" some baby! They loved it!!!

Fargo Friend Visit

My 2 closets friends (Kristen & Brooke) from Fargo both dropped kids off at BYU-I in Rexberg this week. It was my lucky day because they decided to stop by & spend the night on their way home. I so loved being with them if only it was for 12 hours. ;)
Glory took Kristen for a SpeedRacing Adevnture-. LOL

Thanks ladies for stopping. I miss you sooo much!!! Drive safe. XO

Farmer in the Dell 2016

Another year of our family attending & volunteering at the Farmer in the Dell. {Although they now call it Family Fun Day at WestMont. ;) }
After Justice's, football game, we all headed over. We missed lunch this time but enjoyed finding a Pumpkin & playing a couple games. We ran into the Fife family and used them as stand-ins for our older kids not being available for our family pic. Thanks Ethan & Quinn. We said we could photo-shop our kids faces on their bodies but I'm way too behind on my blog so we'll just say we adopted these 2 for the day. ;)

Activity Days (FIGGS)

We just started up Activity Days again in our Ward. (We had the Summer off.) We are joining with another Ward to increase the amount of girls involved. The other Ward calls it FIGGS (for Faith in God Girls)  I had the opportunity to help out with their "get-to-know-you activity to kick off the year, It was so fun. I'm in love with all these cute girls!

They started out by doing a little Duck*Duck*Goose with an opportunity to tell each other something they admired about each other. We got a lot of "I like your hair" or I like your shirt" comments but it was still way cute.

We played a game with a lot of statement that could be applicable to the girls. Examples- I love chocolate! I have blue eyes. I love activity Days! etc. If it applied to someone they followed the directions to either move to the left or move to the right. (even if someone else was in that chair LOL) It was pretty funny!! The goal was to make it all the way around the circle and back to your orgiinal seat. Silly!

The last game we played helped the girls learn each others names. We did a little Memory practice with them and then played the game. The leaders, Annie Hartwig and Kim Jenkins divided the girls into 2 groups. They held up a blanket in the middle. One girl from each side would sneak up to be right next to the blanket. We would count to three and drop the blanket. The first girl to name the other girl correctly was the winner. Super great way to learn each others names.

Here's our cute group of girls & their leaders:

Grandpa & Grammy Visit

Grandpa Randy & Grammy (Edette) came to visit this weekend. We had a great time with them!

We enjoyed...
Hobo Dinners & S'mores in the Rain (and even a double rainbow!)

The S'mores were provided by a kit that the Rasmussens sent us! Man, we love them! How cute is that??

Dad & Edette were kind enough to drive me to Bozeman to buy our teenagers a car. (while the kids were at school & Brett was at work) We enjoyed lunch at the Naked Noodle & walked down the main street to check out shops & buy candy!!! ;)
Liberty was super excited when we brought the new car home. She loves it {for reals}! Silver Subaru

We took them to Justices football game & then to the Farmers Market. We shared some Mexican Street corn, kettle corn & got free flowers! Good day!!! {Plus we found Grandpa's lost Walkie Talkies so all was good! ;)

We also ate tons! Yummy!
We tried out Zuchinni Pizzas. (and made stuff with huckleberries)

They made us Crepes one morning. Delish!

We shared fancy Quesadillas with fresh garden stuff. So good!

We even played a few games. Winner!Winner! Chicken Dinner! LOL Brett and Justice were ashamed of their LOSER-ness so they hid their faces. ;)

It went way too fast and it rained us out of our hike! Darn! Guess they'll just have to come up again! Love you guys! XO

P.S. Thanks Dad for helping Brett with our yard projects! Sometime our Zipline will be function-able & awesome! ;)

Nick's Baptism

One of Brett's Seminary students from last year got baptized today. (Yes! Nick came to early morning Seminary for the last 2 years without even being a Member of The Church.) Nick asked that Brett baptize him. Brett felt very grateful to be a part of Nick's special day.

Here's our good friends the Fifes with Nick (they recently adopted Nick & his 2 brothers)

Showing off His Football Skills

We took Grammy & Grandpa Randy with us to Justice's football game this morning. It was a little chilly! (way chilly for Grammy in her parka, gloves & hat!!! LOL) Good game, Buddy!
